Senior IT Engineer

Title: Senior IT Engineer (2nd/ 3rd Line Support)

Location: 3 days a week in Oxford (2 days remote)



My client is a leading analytic company in the UK, and they are looking for a Senior IT Engineer to provide high quality support to their new and existing users.  


Your responsibilities:

  • Resolve end-user issues through troubleshooting, provide application support, and manage the user onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Deploy and administer various software and systems, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), Sophos anti-virus software, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Develop and enhance the IT infrastructure, systems, policies, and procedures of the UK Head Office to accommodate the company's ongoing growth.
  • Take charge of managing, deploying, and configuring software upgrades, updates, and security patches.
  • Assume responsibility for improving and automating user onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Monitor and maintain video conferencing (VC) equipment and network devices.
  • Generate regular reports for the Head of IT and the broader business, conveying project status, activities, and accomplishments.
  • Share knowledge and provide training to junior team members.


Required skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration and application support, including Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Experience with Azure AD, Intune, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
  • Competence in setting up, configuring, and supporting Windows 10/11.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server 2016 and newer.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting WiFi connectivity.
  • Expertise in hardware procurement, installation, and support, including video conferencing (VC) equipment.
