Skills and Experience

A candidate with a degree in a numerate discipline is normally required, preferably computer science or similar. The candidate should have programming experience and familiarity with operating systems, standard software packages and networking. The candidate should have a passion for quality and enjoy manual and automated testing. A keen eye for detail, ability to see things from the users’ perspective and self-drive to completion are required to support on-time quality releases. Experience of continuous integration, testing, python, networking and Linux are a bonus

Test Engineer Responsibilities

•      Deploy environments to the required specification for acceptance and regression testing
•      Create and maintain tests within TestRails
•      Execute automated and manual tests in regression plans and report on status
•      Support and advise development teams on their acceptance testing and later create automated regression plans from these test plans
•      Automate test cases producing readable and commented code taking reasonable steps to re-use existing software and make new development re-usable
•      Create accurate, unique defects reports with the correct level of analysis to ensure a smooth handover to development
•      Produce readable and commented code taking reasonable steps to re-use existing software and make new development re-usable
•      Meet project deadlines with planning and dedication, if necessary, raising and working through options for schedule challenges at the appropriate juncture
•      Work independently or as part of a team. Proactively take reasonable steps to reach project goals, learn context and solve problems before seeking support. Consider the “what else can I do” motto.
•      Keep relevant work, defect and time tracking systems up to date
